XR Real-time Communication eXperience Evaluation (XR-Com-XE)

In the project XR-Com-XE, different eXtended Reality telepresence systems will be evaluated with regard to the Quality of Experience perceived by users. The systems include research prototypes from other parties as weil as offers from companies. The evaluation is carried out using perception-only evaluation of avatars presented via the lest systems, as weil as experiments with two lest users communicating across the systems under lest. The evaluation method to be developed for this purpose needs to address aspects such as the creation of audiovisual avatars as weil as specifying appropriate lest tasks for audiovisual communication that will be suitable across different systems to be compared. In close agreement with the collaboration partner Telekom Innovation Labs (Deutsche Telekom), the developed methods and parts of the lest results will be contributed to international standardization within the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T) and the Video Quality Experts Group (VQEG).
